**October 30, 2026** · Payment Methods

UPI (INR) is now live. You can now accept UPI payments in INR, so Indian customers can pay in their local currency. This is separate from UPI (SGD), where customers pay in SGD.

### Why it matters

* UPI is India's most-used payment method, with 400M+ users
* Customers pay in INR, which reduces currency friction at checkout
* You don't need an Indian entity. Onboard through your existing HitPay account
* Expand your payment method coverage if you sell to customers in India

### Get started

Go to **Payment Methods → UPI (INR)**, enable it, and submit the required documents. Onboarding takes about 5 business days.

### Fees and payouts

* Transaction fee: 2%, plus a 1% FX fee at settlement
* Payout: HitPay Balance (T+5)

### For developers

If you integrate via the API, the method code for UPI (INR) is `upi_01` or `upi_02` depending on your provider. Check **Payment Methods > UPI (INR)** in your onboarding flow to see which one applies to your account.
