FAQs

Connectivity & Setup

  1. What if my device has connection issues?
Click on the red banner “Oops you are not connected..” to open the WiFi settings popup. Alternatively, go to Settings > Check Reader Settings > Change WiFi Settings and select a stable, secure WiFi network to continue using the terminal.
  2. Do I need a SIM card to use the terminal?
No, if you have a stable and strong WiFi connection. A SIM card is useful in locations without good WiFi coverage.
  3. Does it come with its own SIM/data plan, or do I need to provide one?
You will need to provide your own SIM card and data plan.
  4. How can I connect my SIM card? Does it work on Smart and Globe? Prepaid or Postpaid?
Insert your SIM card into the slot, then configure it under Settings > Network. The terminal works with both Smart and Globe networks, prepaid or postpaid.
  5. How do I change the receipt header (store name, business address, contact info)?
You will need to contact our Support Team (support@hit-pay.com) to make the change and we will tell you the follow-up steps.
  6. Why am I getting a 504 error when I accept a payment?
The terminal can only connect to a secure WiFi network. This means public WiFi in shopping malls or outdoor areas might not work. We recommend you connect it to your Mobile Hotspot or purchase a SIM card for reliable connectivity. For more information on troubleshooting your WiFi connection, please refer to https://docs.hitpayapp.com/pos/readers/wisepose#reader-is-unable-to-connect.

  6. How do I process refunds on the dashboard?
Go to HitPay Dashboard > Transactions, select the transaction, then click Refund and confirm the action.
